Terms & conditions

These are the terms on which Frame and Print Limited sells to you through this website. They are written for customers buying as consumers. By placing an order you agree to them, so please read them; they are short.

About us

Frame and Print Limited is a picture framing and printing workshop in Daventry, Northamptonshire. You can contact us at orders@frameandprint.co.uk or on 02476 992004.

Ordering

When you place an order and pay, you are making us an offer to buy. We accept it, and the contract between us is made, when we email to confirm your order. If we cannot accept an order — because something is out of stock, a price was shown wrongly, or a picture will not print well enough and you would rather not go ahead — we will tell you and refund anything you have paid.

Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT at the current rate. Delivery is charged on top and shown before you pay. Items marked “price on application” are quoted individually and are not charged until you have agreed the quote.

Made-to-order work

Bespoke frames, mounts, prints and canvases are made to the sizes, finishes and options you choose. Please check them carefully before you order: once we have started making something to your specification it cannot be changed, cancelled or returned unless it is faulty. If you notice a mistake, contact us straight away and we will change the order if work has not begun.

Sizes are in millimetres or centimetres as shown and are the finished sizes we work to. Small variations of a millimetre or two are normal in handmade framing and are not a fault.

Your pictures

When you upload a picture for printing or framing you confirm that you own it or have the right to use it, and that it is not unlawful or offensive. We may decline to print a picture we are not comfortable with, and will refund you if so. We check every upload and will warn you if it is too small to print sharply at the size you have chosen; if you choose to go ahead after a warning, softness in the print is not a fault. How we look after your pictures is explained in our privacy policy.

The preview

The frame builder shows your picture in the frame and mount you have chosen, using photographs of the real mouldings. It is a good guide, but screens vary and colours on screen differ from the printed and finished piece. Differences of that kind between the preview and the finished item are not a fault.

Delivery

Delivery times, costs and areas are set out on our delivery & returns page. The item becomes your responsibility once it has been delivered to the address you gave, or collected. If delivery fails because nobody is in and the item comes back to us, we may ask you to pay for it to be sent again.

Cancelling, returning and faults

If you are a consumer, you have 14 days from receiving a stock item to change your mind, and a further 14 days to return it. That right does not apply to items made to your specification, as explained above. If anything is faulty or not as described, you have the rights given by the Consumer Rights Act 2015: a full refund within 30 days of delivery, and repair or replacement after that. Full details, and how to return something, are on our delivery & returns page.

Our responsibility to you

If we fail to meet these terms we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our negligence, but not for loss that could not have been foreseen. We do not exclude or limit our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything the law says cannot be excluded. We supply items for private use; we are not responsible for business losses.

If you send us an original piece to be framed — a print, a shirt, a medal — we take great care of it. If it is of particular value, please tell us before you send it so that we can agree how it is covered.

Things outside our control

If something outside our reasonable control delays or prevents your order — a supplier failing, a postal strike, severe weather — we will tell you as soon as we can and do what we can to put it right. If the delay would be substantial you can cancel and have a refund for anything not yet delivered.

Your information

We use your personal information as described in our privacy policy.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring a claim in your local courts. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
